Dash is the most endearing, lovely, versatile dog. He is wonderful to live with and an absolute pleasure to own. He has multiple impressive credentials on his pedigree as can be seen by all his titles in various disciplines! He was bred by Robyn Evans at Winpara Border Collies. Dash has a lovely head, good angulation with a strong turn of stifle, and a flowing effortless side gait. He has a superb nature, being a very friendly and relaxed dog. He loves people and has shown considerable skill at endearing himself to all that meet him.
Dash also competes in the arena of agility and jumping. He achieved his Novice Jumping title on 18/3/05 with one first place and two second places (beaten both times by Gemma!), and his Novice Agility title on 19/3/05 with three first placings, of which we are very proud. He achieved his Excellent Jumping title on 10/9/05 with four placing passes- two firsts, a second and a third, and he achieved his Excellent Agility title on 1/4/06 with three first placings and a third amongst his passes. He also gained the awards for the fastest Border Collie in both agility and jumping at the 2006 Border Collie Club of Victoria Agility trial, winning three out of the four excellent rings on the day. He followed that up in March 2007 at the Border Collie Club of Victoria's annual trial by doing "the double" - winning both Masters Agility and Masters Jumping in the morning trials and placing 2nd and 3rd in two other masters rings on the same day (jumping and agility respectively). Dash achieved his Masters Jumping title on 17/2/07 with multiple well-placed rounds, and completed his Masters Agility title with several lovely placings on 6/5/07 at the 2007 National Agility Trials, Adelaide, South Australia. Dash achieved his first Open
title in Jumping on 16/6/07, followed in quick succession by his Open Agility
title on 15/7/07. Dash's first
trials in the new agility games titles have seen him achieve his novice title in
Strategic Pairs on 23/7/06 with one qualifying pass with Gemma, and two
qualifying passes with Paris, and his Gamblers Dog title on 6/8/06. He achieved his Excellent Strategic Pairs title
on
Although Dash is early in his Masters careers he has qualified for the Top Agility Dog and Top Jumping Dog awards in Victoria, July 2007. He placed 9th and 7th in agility and jumping respectively, unfortunately with no clear rounds in the finals. In September 2007 at the Melbourne Royal Agricultural Show he won both the Open Agility and the Masters Jumping events with some lovely work, and was awarded the accolade of Fastest Agility Dog In Trial for his efforts in the open ring. He also achieved the Border Collie Club of Victoria Best Performance by a Border Collie in Agility award at the 2007 Melbourne Royal :))) He continued his royal success in 2008 winning the Masters Jumping event at the Melbourne Royal Show. In 2008 Dash again qualified for both the Agility Dog of the Year and the Jumping Dog of the Year events for Victoria. Dash had a much more successful campaign in 2008, placing 4th in the Jumping Dog of the Year event (2 penalties), and going all the way in agility with a lovely clear round to win the title of the 2008 Agility Dog of the Year!
Dash has been shown in conformation since the age of six months with considerable success. He started his Australian Champion title off with a best of breed as a young dog at the Good Friday Championship Show in 2004. As a youngster he achieved many reserve challenge awards and runner up best of breeds. With a bit more maturity on his side, Dash went on to achieve five Best of Breed awards to his credit, including a Runner Up Best In Group/Open In Group award. His latest achievements Include Best of Breed at the Australia Day International Dog Club Championship Show (15/10/06) and Runner up best of Breed at the Whittlesea Kennel Club Championship Show under Mr H Kamisato (Japan), culminating in his most recent 20 point Best of Breed award that saw him titled as an Australian Champion at the Bacchus Marsh & District Kennel Club Championship Show on 14/1/07. He was awarded Opposite Ausbred in show at the 2007 Border Collie Club of Victoria Championship Show (10/6/07) under breed specialist Mrs L Harrison (SA). His most recent success was being awarded Best Exhibit in Group 5/Best Open in Group 5 at the Box Hill & District Kennel Club Inc Championship Show on 31/5/08 (Mr L. Greenall).
